After a long postponement, the new period of Indian Premier League (IPL) begun on Friday when guarding champions and four-time victors Mumbai Indians took on three-time title champions Chennai Super Kings at the Sheik Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. 

Two of IPL's best groups planed to begin a triumphant note immediately with Rohit Sharma's Mumbai holding a slight edge over MS Dhoni's Chennai. CSK played without Suresh Raina - a key part who left the crew because of individual reasons and will avoid this current season's competition. 

 

After Raina's takeoff, two cricketers from the CSK crew – Deepak Chahar and Ruturaj Gaikwad – alongside other staff individuals tried positive for COVID-19 when they group arrived in UAE. 

The off-field issues may have squeezed Dhoni and the rest, a group that relies upon the experience of global players.
